I’ve been wanting to work in the studio again for quite some time. But something always seemed to interfere: I didn’t have enough time, or the model cancelled at the last moment, or the studio wasn’t available.
Last Sunday, all came together, and I finally got around to doin’ a shoot. Kristel was modeling for me this time. Thank you girl!!! I had a great time in the studio. And I must say, I’m pretty pleased with the results. Here’s a couple…
Of course: a big thank you to Willy for letting me use the studio, for all the help, and for the tips & tricks. The hair pieces are provided by Miss Needles.
More photos of this studio session in Kristel’s album.
I went to visit the Margraten American Cemetery and Memorial yesterday. It’s the only official American WWII cemetery in the Netherlands. As the Dutch celebrate Liberation Day on May 5th and since the weather was nice, this weekend seemed an excellent opportunity for a visit.

A few weeks back, I went to the coalmine in Waterschei with model Stephanie and my good friend and fellow photographer Luc Bogaerts for a photoshoot. Although the shoot didn’t go quite as planned: a few models that we had contacted cancelled because they were ill and I was ill too.
Despite the little problems, the shoot was fun to do. And I would like to take this opportunity to thank Stephanie for her efforts and her patience.
Take a look at the rest of the photos in Stephanie’s album.
I went to a little park in Merksplas with model Katleen Struyven the other day to shoot some photos. It was a fun shoot. A big thanks to Katleen for her time and effort.
More photo’s of Katleen can be found in her album.
I ran into Roos Van Acker at the Dag v/d Amateurfotograaf organized by the Antwerp Fotomuseum and het Centrum voor Beeldexpressie.
I’ve done a little model shoot at DIFO, the photography club I joined last fall. There’s a couple of shots from last night in this gallery.
A big thank you to An, the model for the evening, and to the people at DIFO for organizing the shoot.
Until yesterday, I had never worked in photo studio before. Compared to shooting on location, studio photography is a totally different experience. There’s a lot more preparation involved: setting up the studio, lights, props, finding the right poses, … It will take a few more studio sessions before I really understand the basics.
My good friend Kelly was kind enough to pose for me. She’s not a model, and she had never posed for photo shoot before. But she did a great job: she was very patient with me and very cooperative too. Thanks Kel!
And thank you to DIFO for allowing me to use the studio.

For the 2nd time this year, I went out for a model shoot. I had arranged to go to the Keiheuvel in Balen with KimM. It turned out we were not alone: there was a big mountain bike contest going on. And we wanted peace and quiet for our photo shoot.
Fortunately, there is plenty of nice quiet places in the area. We turned the car around and drove to the Zilvermeer in Mol for the shoot.
Thank you Kim for a fun afternoon!
A couple more photos can be found in KimM’s album on my gallery.
