We drove to the Ardennes yesterday for a little geocache. Never heard of geocaching? It’s a high tech version of a little game called hide-and-seek. Someone hides a little box with goodies and then tells you at which coordinates the box is hidden. All you need to do is to take your GPS and find your way to that little box. Sometimes you have to solve small puzzles or find other things a long the way to get where you need to be.

We tried our luck on the cache GC8342. Arrived in the area shortly before sunset, but since we knew it was just a little hike, we’d gone ahead, took our gear (GPS and camera) and tried to find it anyway. The stash was easy to find and we had plenty of time to enjoy the scenery. A pity that we didn’t arrive sooner because there is was very nice there: very beautiful place for a day hike and to shoot pictures.
I spent last week Friday and Gilze-Rijen Air Force Base shooting some photos of the proud of the Dutch Royal Air Force. The KLu presented their helicopter fleet at their yearly air show. Conditions weren’t great (low cloud coverage) but he still managed to get a few nice shots. You gotta love that air power demonstration and you gotta love the AH-64 Apache.

I just got back from a week in Orlando, FL, where he went to see a concert by Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band. They were performing at the TD Waterhouse Center together with R.E.M. to support the Vote for Change organization. Vote for Change urges US Citizens to go and vote… for John Kerry. Artist like Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M., Bonnie Raitt, Pearl Jam and the Dixie Chick are the spearhead of a very large group of people in the US and all over the world that feel a change of leadership is needed to make the world a safer place.
And while in the area, he visited Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island National Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore. Of course, I didn’t travel without his camera. Here is some impressions of the trip.
We went to the 2nd Belgium Digital Motor & Car Shooting Day last week Sunday. Although we are frequent visitors of the Belgium Digital website, it was the 1st time we participated in one of their shooting days. We had a blast: a bunch of people, all with digital cameras, looking for and taking pictures of nice spots in the Flanders countryside.

The gallery pages have been updated with more photos from our past holidays. Updates that were long overdue, because only now have we added the highlights of our trips to Florida in 1997, and to Beijing and New York in 1998. Another 50 or so photos have been added in the respective galleries.
It was nice doing this update though. It had been a while since we looked at some of these photos. And looking at them brought back a lot of nice memories. It reminded us of how many interesting places we’ve visited and how many great things we’ve seen.
Our gallery has been updated. All the photos from our recent short trips are back online. Check out our photos of Disneyland Paris, London 2002 and 2003, Legoland and München.
Not much has happened in January. That gave us some time to update our photo gallery. We have added pictures of our holidays to California and Hawaii where we attended the 60th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. And you can also have a look at a few shots from our 2 trips last year: a 3 day trip to Dinseyland Paris and a 4 day trip to London.
From the looks of it, we won’t be going away for a longer period this year, but we have a series of shows with Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band to look forward too. And to us, that is still a good thing to look forward too.
