I have a little guest in the house for the next 2 weeks. Garfield, my neighbors’ cat it staying with me while they’re out of town. I’ve never had a pet before, so this is going to be a bit of a challenge for me. But he’s a very nice cat, and I’m sure that we’ll get along just fine.
DIFO, my photo club is gearing up for our annual exhibition in October. As last year, I will be showing 8 of my photos in October. Before going on display in October, every photo was rated by a group of photographers.
In my second year as a member of DIFO, I won 1st prize in the category Color Photo! I was flabbergasted. My photo came out on top of almost 100 other photos. Competition was though this year. My co-members have entered really good work in the competition and I was really surprised to win. I won with this photo of a Pelican, taken at the Olmense Zoo.
It’s been a very rough year for me. Winning this award means a lot to me. I hope it is the beginning of happier times.
I spent the afternoon with a friend yesterday; played with the dog for a while. Tonight, before going to bed, I found this little parasite on my body.
I’ve been bitten by a tick! And removing it hurt a lot more than I expected it to do. Hopefully I won’t develop Lyme disease. I’ll know more in 6 to 8 weeks, ‘cause that’s how long it takes for Lyme disease to show.
I don’t think I’ve ever said this out loud and in public… But there is a time and a place for everything.
To my Dad: you paid the ultimate sacrifice to get me started. Sure enough, we had our differences. But you thought me well, and I wouldn’t be were I am now without you. Thanks Dad!
I had the day off last Tuesday. Used it to go out with my friends of DIFO. It has been a tradition for many years to go and visit some place to shoot some images on the 1st of May. There was about 10 of us. This year, we took a little trip to the coalmine of Waterschei: a perfect spot for an urban shoot or a model shoot.
I had a little trouble finding a model for this shoot. Be luckily Luc—on of the other DIFO members—came through for me and made sure I could shoot with Tanja. Busted my ankle (again!) during the shoot, but that didn’t keep me from having a lot of fun.
Here’s a couple more photos from the shoot.
Thanks Tanja for a fun day and a shoot with excellent results. And of course a big thank you to the other members of DIFO for makin’ me a better photographer.
