Vintage Logo

vintagelogoI came across the very 1st version of my logo today. The design is almost 25 years old. I made it with a Commodore 64 and colored it by hand. The logo was inspired by the ’80s cult series “V“.

This copy was almost faded away. I had to digital enhance the silly thing.

Bollekesfeesten in Antwerp

I went to the Antwerp photo museum with a friend this afternoon. I try to go there a couple of times per year and check out the new expos. I guess it is just an other excuses to see more photos.

Later in the afternoon, we went downtown, and ended up at the Bollekesfeesten. Serveral restaurants had put little stalls all around the Groenplaats. So we stuck around and decided to try some of the food there. And we like good food… So deciding what to try is not easy for us. Glass of Cava, some dim sums and sushi to start with. Main course at restaurant Hokfe van Bazel, a glass of wine and double shot of desserts. And all of a sudden deciding wasn’t so hard anymore.

And good folks of Antwerp, just for the record: I AM NOT GAY!

Dasm!

I should have been at the Giants Stadium tonight when Bruce played Jersey Girl

I could have… I would have… I should have… Next year Bruce! I promise!

Girls in their Summer Clothes

Woke up this morning and the first thing I read, is this post on my little sister’s blog… dedicated to me. Speechless, stunned and overpowered with joy was I!

A perfect start for a summer’s day. A perfect start for summer all together. You’re the best sis. And since it’s your song… this is for you…

It’s the Little Things that Count

Bring your best friends together for a photoshoot and a little bite to eat. And 3 days later, after you realize that all the Magnum Almonds are gone, your MSN looks like this.

MSN Screen Dump

I use MSN ’cause it’s a useful tool, but I don’t like it. But this… This just puts a very big smile on my face. Actually, I could stop laughing for 10 minutes.

‘Ohana

‘Ohana an Hawaiian word; it means family. But not in the very strict sense of the term (i.e. blood-related) as we in the Western world refer to family. In Hawaiian culture ‘Ohana means a lot more: they use ‘Ohana to describe a feeling of togetherness. Individuals being bound together by feelings of respect, care and cooperation.

I was introduced to the term in 2001 when I visited Hawaii and completely forgot about the word. Recently rediscovered the word while I was looking at photos from that trip. And I realized that ‘Ohana is the best way to describe the way I feel about people dear to me.

I am very grateful to have found my ‘Ohana: supportive, patient, sometimes confronting but always givin’ me that feeling that nobody gets left behind.
