Pearl Harbor Remembered

On the morning of December 7, 1941 the Imperial Japanese Navy launched a surprise attack on the American naval base of Pearl Harbor, HI. 2350 persons—military and civilian—lost their lives during the attack. Of the military personnel lost at Pearl Harbor, 1177 were from the USS Arizona. 1 aerial bomb struck the Arizona’s forward magazine causing a catastrophic explosion that sunk the battleship in just 9 minutes.

Until today the wreck of the USS Arizona remains a memorial to those perished that day.

On December 7th, 2001 I attended the ceremonies to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the attack. It was and still is a very moving experience for me. And since then, I will pause on December 7th to remember the attack.

Car Wrecked

Someone slammed into my car tonight. I had just left a customer and was on my way home when my car got hit from behind. I did not get hurt, but I think that my car is total loss.

Meeting at the PhotokitcheN

Ludwig and Joy had another of their famous meetings at the PhotokitcheN yesterday. A perfect organization, as always. Joy treated us with tasty Thai snacks and drinks. Ludwig made shooting at the PhotokitcheN the funnest thing ever. Thanks! It was fun to be there again, meet new people and work on things I’ve always wanted to work on.

Eef and I had made plans to do a little fetish glamour shoot a while back. This meeting at the PhotokitcheN seemed like the right moment to do the shoot. Eef and I shot the “Alien Attack” in Ludwig’s elevator. Then one thing let to another, and before I knew I was doin’ a 2nd fetish glamour/fashion shoot.

I bought a little softbox just recently. And the meeting was a good opportunity to test it. Just a quick little test: a 20 minute shoot with Sarah, Ludwig’s fantastic floor of light and my new softbox. Sarah and I were both pleased with the results. We’ll be planning another shoot sometime soon. We both loved this picture…

A big thank you to Sarah, Eef and Hilde for posing. Check out their album!

Second Life Birth

Yasmine Otsuka

I was born again today… on Second Life! And I’m a girl. Yasmine Otsuka is my name. Daughter of a Japanese mother—yes I was named after my mother—and a US Navy pilot, I ended up in Belgium. As in my 1st life, I love music, photography, and arts & sciences. Little bit of a geek girl on the look for exciting challenges and interesting people.

Could John and Paul Be Right?

Try to see it my way,
Do I have to keep on talking till I can’t go on?
While you see it your way,
Run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone.
We can work it out,
We can work it out.
Think of what you’re saying.
You can get it wrong and still you think that it’s alright.
Think of what I’m saying,
We can work it out and get it straight, or say good night.
We can work it out,
We can work it out.
Life is very short, and there’s no time
For fussing and fighting, my friend.
I have always thought that it’s a crime,
So I will ask you once again.
Try to see it my way,
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong.
While you see it your way
There’s a chance that we may fall apart before too long.
We can work it out,
We can work it out.

Urban Model Shoot

My photo buddy Bart Henseler invited me to a shoot with Evara and Namorita. Bart arranged access to an abandoned mining site in the South of Belgium. Still working on the photos. But here’s a taste of what’s to come.

I have a couple more photos in the gallery. Thank you Evara and Namorita for posing, and Bart for the spectacular location.

You can kiss my ass
