Legoland Florida

Deep down, I’ve always stayed a little boy that likes Lego. There’s a Legoland in the Orlando area, so it should not come as a surprise that I went to visit while I was in Florida last November. And boy it was so much fun to see the Lego models of all those famous places in Florida like Miami Beach and Hemingway’s home and favorite bar in Key West.

It took me a little while to sort through my photos and retouch them. But there where so many and so my of my favorite places in the US. Here’s a few more: New York City–what else?–and The Capitol in Washington D.C.

Today, you’ll have to settle for this scale model of the Space Shuttle in Lego, next week I’ll have the real thing.

Food Photography

I like cooking. I like spending time in the kitchen. I find it very relaxing. And after a few years of experimenting in the kitchen, I’m slowly getting good at it. And since I like photography, it’s sort of a given to try and make a good pic of the food I prepare. And the good thing is, I get to eat the food too.

Home Cooked Dinner

I did this pan fried filet of cod with a creme of peas and tarragon, pickled onion and chanterelle mushrooms last week.

Blue Angels 2014 Homecoming Air Show (part 2)

The US Navy Blue Angels are supported by a maintenance & support crew that is transported in a Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules affectionately known as Fat Albert. Fat Albert is flown by an all US Marines crew and is an integral part of the Blue Angels’ show. I’ve always liked the C-130, even had the opportunity to sit in it’s cockpit a couple of times. And Fat Albert is just awesome.

Blue Angels 2014 Homecoming Air Show (part 1)

I just realized I have never posted my pics of my trip to Florida of last year. My best buddy Luc and I made a little trip to Pensacola, FL to go see the US Navy Blue Angels on their 2014 Homecoming Air Show. Last time we saw them, was 10 years or so ago at the air show of the Royal Dutch Air Force in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. Luc and I were talking to about taking a trip to the US for some time. Florida was as good as a place as any. And with the Blue Angels coming back to their home at NAS Pensacola, we just packed our photo gear and few out there.

I set myself a goal to get at least 1 awesome photo of the Blue Angels. I ended up with several great shots, but I think the pic of the 2 solo aircraft crossing each other at high speed and close range is my favorite.

Sarah & Anton

Sarah & Anton

I must have overlooked the shoot I did last year with Sarah & Anton. A photo of this lovely couple was floating around in my backlog folder. Shot last year October in Sint-Felixpakhuis in Antwerp. I know Sarah since a couple of year. I have worked with her before and we she asked if I wanted to do a shoot with her and her boyfriend, I gladly obliged. And somewhere in the pile of ruble, this photo got lost.

I apologize to Sarah and Anton for putting this on my blog any sooner. I should have, ’cause the shoot we had, was fun. Let’s do it again sometime soon, shall we?

The Adorable Shannety

Shannety Lequenne

A little something from my last shoot in 2014: my young muse Shannety. Working with her is so much fun. I always look forward to it! Where planning a couple of new collaborations for 2015…

While she and I are making new plans for our shoots in 2015, I’d thought I share one of my favorite shots from our last shoot.

Feathered Beauty Charline

Feathered Beauty

Charline visited our studio late last year. It had been a while since we last collaborated but it was just as much fun as the last time. It has taken me a bit of time to post process some of the images. I’ve completed this photo just last week.

Winter Day London

I love to take holidays the 1st week of the year. Everyone returns to work, all puffed up from eating too much during the holiday season, still tired and lazy, nothing really works, all those daily “best wishes for the new year” message… And I take the time to do things for myself.

With my Fifty-Five Fifty project in mind, I hopped on the Eurostar for a quick day trip to London. It was a cold dark winter day, but I still managed to shoot this scene of St Paul’s Cathedral and the Millennium Bridge.

China Light Zoo

The Antwerp zoo is the oldest zoo in Belgium. Their Egyptian Temple, which houses the zoo’s elephants, is world famous. As a kid, going to the zoo was a major event. My grandparents use to take me on the train to the zoo. When I was like 7 years old, it felt like traveling to the other side of the world: on the train to a big city. It felt like… WOW!

But little kids grow up and don’t visit the zoo as often as they would like. It has been over 5 years since I was at the zoo. Going to see the China Light festival made me feel 7 years old again. It was just awesome, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the zoo being so pretty as it did now.

Starting 2015 with a Shoot with Amber

Amber Vanderplanken

Amber is a model we have scouted for Benelux Model Awards. She’s a lot of fun to work with and she was the perfect start for my photography work in 2015.
