Tourists Welcome

Found this parking meter in Knokke-Heist today. This is only one of the richest communities in Belgium. They attract a lot of tourists during the summer. And they are happy to have them, as long as they leave behind some money. The display on the meter reads: “parking ticket required only on weekends, legal holidays and school vacations”.

“Breathe”

I can feel the magic floating in the air
Being with you gets me that way
I watch the sunlight dance across your face and I’ve
Never been this swept away

All my thoughts just seem to settle on the breeze
When I’m lying wrapped up in your arms
The whole world just fades away
The only thing I hear
Is the beating of your heart

‘Cause I can feel you breathe
It’s washing over me
Suddenly I’m melting into you
There’s nothing left to prove
Baby all we need is just to be
Caught up in the touch
The slow and steady rush
Baby, isn’t that the way that love’s supposed to be
I can feel you breathe
Just breathe

In a way I know my heart is waking up
As all the walls come tumbling down
I’m closer than I’ve ever felt before
And I know
And you know
There’s no need for words right now

‘Cause I can feel you breathe
It’s washing over me
Suddenly I’m melting into you
There’s nothing left to prove
Baby all we need is just to be
Caught up in the touch
The slow and steady rush
Baby, isn’t that the way that love’s supposed to be
I can feel you breathe
Just breathe

Caught up in the touch
The slow and steady rush
Baby, isn’t that the way that love’s supposed to be
I can feel you breathe
Just breathe

I can feel the magic floating in the air
Being with you gets me that way

New life at Olmense Zoo

3 white lion cubs were born at the Olmense Zoo in March. They showed them to the public for the 1st time today. They are sooooooo cute!

Mourning on E-Street

Danny FedericiDanny Federici, keyboard player in Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band, died of melonoma cancer at the age of 58. Danny has been in the E-Street Band for 40 years.

Bruce said about Danny: “Danny and I worked together for 40 years – he was the most wonderfully fluid keyboard player and a pure natural musician. I loved him very much…we grew up together.”

My heart goes out to Danny’s family and the E-Street family. Danny… You will be missed!

Ifhegemeia’s Little Shop of Fetish

Ifhegemeia was on my wishlist since our 1st encounter and Lud and Joy’s PhotokitcheN meeting last year. She wanted to do a fetish shoot with me for a long time. And we finally got around to fixing a date.

The shoot was out of this world. I’ve never made this many photos in a session before: 625 and all of them are great. I’ll have a hard time making a selection.

Thanks girl!!! Let’s do this again very soon.

3 Girls at the Studio

It’s going to be a busy weekend. Just got back from a studio shoot with Inke, Tanja and Tamara. Shot with all 3 girls last year, and they wanted to come back for another shoot.

Got a lot of help from my friend Stefan Vleugels on this shoot. He brought in fresh ideas and a lot of light. Thanks everyone for the shoot! I got a great series of black-n-whites from the shoot.

Tomorrow, I shooting with Ifhegemeia.

PhotoVaganza

Gert Willems and myself organized a meeting for everyone involved with model photography. We called it PhotoVaganza. And it was a big success: around 80 models, makeup artists, photographers and bodypainters showed up yesterday. Everyone left a happy puppy: good food, drinks, lots of opportunity to shoot pictures and a whole lot of fun.

Thank you everyone for coming. We hope to see you all again soon. And a special thanks to everyone who helped us make it a fun day: Stefan, Chris, Glenn, Lieve, Francois of Black & White Limo (for providing the limo) and Ajan for the pizza service.

In between all the running around and talking to a lot of people, I managed to shoot some photos too. Thank you Hilde, Lesley and Mariana for spending some time in front of my lens (again). Here’s a few impressions… Hilde outside the abandoned mill:

Since this first edition of PhotoVaganza was such a big success, we plan a 2nd edition later this year. Stay tuned…

Training Course in Paris

I spent the last couple of days in Paris for a training course: my least favorite city in Europe and the course wasn’t really interesting. But I managed to have 5 minutes of fun… shooting this pic of the Eiffel Tower.

Actually no… I had more than 5 minutes of fun. I also enjoyed having dinner with my colleague Alex too.
