Wow! What a show it was last night at Het Depot in Leuven. Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes are known for their very energetic shows. And he didn’t let down yesterday. They played a two and a half hour set with songs from their new album Soultime! and well known classics. I especially loved Walk Away Renée into Talk To Me, two personal favorites of mine.
Their mix of soul, blues and rock is well worth checking out. They are playing a few more shows in The Netherlands this weekend before they return home to the Jersey Shore to tour the U.S. this summer.
I was at the concert on assignment for Frontview Magazine. More photos on their website.
Sometimes, all you need is 1 outfit, a model, a makeup artist and a couple of hours to get good results. And with Eva as a model and Liesbet as a makeup artist, I have the easy life. The girls both did an awesome job, the latex outfit by Westward Bound made Eva shine and all I had to do was take the pictures.
Ines was awarded the title of Miss Fashion 2016 last November. She has a busy schedule but she was kind enough to take some time to come and work with me for a photo shoot.
We had not seen each other in a couple of months. So, after catching up with all the fun stuff she did for Miss Fashion, we went to work on a series of beauty portraits.
And even when she’s wearing latex, Ines remains gracious and beautiful as always. The swimsuit in Miss Fashion Blue she’s wearing is by Westward Bound and suits her perfectly.
Last night, the Dixie Chicks opened their MMXVI world tour in Antwerp, Belgium. I had the opportunity to take pictures at the show for Frontview Magazine.
Almost 10 years after releasing their album Taking the Long Way, Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison take their award winning crossover country back on the road. The band faced controversy after publicly opposing the Iraqi War in 2003 and decided to take a brake from the action somewhere in 2008. But they are back with a bang: their new show is rock solid!
More photos are available on Frontview Magazine’s website.
I met Annelies last summer when she filled in at the last minute for model that fell sick. That 1st shoot with her at Hof ten Steen was so much fun, I was happy to have her in my studio for another latex shoot.
A simple setting, great latex outfits by Meat, Zorenko London and Simon O. and the stunning Annelies is all you need to create great photos.
I drove into Brussels this morning, on my way to a customer. Just 2 days after terrorists struck Brussels Airport and the Maalbeek metro station in the Brussels.
No planes landing or departing from the airport as entered the Brussels ringway. It felt uneasy. Entering the city via my normal route through the European quarter towards Place Shuman, right on Rue de la Loi, past Maalbeek metro station. Simply eerie.
My customer houses just around the corner from the Belgian parliament. Before heading home, I made this panorama of our parliament building flying the flags half mast in honor of the victims of the horrible attacks earlier this week.
I had Imke in in my home studio last February. Here’s a couple of photos from that shoot. She’s got a very beautiful face. Just perfect for portraits. And she had her 1st go at a latex dress: that Westward Bound Dame Subversion Dress suits her just fine.
My simple veggie lasagna is a perfect lunchtime recipe. It’s quick and easy. This is how you make it:
Preparation Method: (serves 2)
Slice 4 thin long slices of zucchini. Use a mandolin if you have one, but if you don’t just use a very sharp kitchen knife. Place a slice of zucchini on your plate, season with salt & pepper, and layer it with ricotta, sun dried tomatoes, roasted pine nuts, slivers of basil and a generous helping of pesto. Top with another slice zucchini, drizzle with some olive oil and season with salt & peper.
Ingredients:
- 1 Zucchini
- Ricotta cheese
- Sun dried tomatoes
- Pine Nuts
- Basil
- Pesto
- Olive oil
- Salt & Peper
My phone pings late at night. I get an IM with an behind-the-scenes snapshot at an hairdresser’s show and a message that says: “Wanna shoot?” I was kinda tired but when I saw the hairdo and who the model is, I immediately say: “YES!” The model was Monica and she had her hair done all colorful. She told me before the shoot that all she could think was “Oh my hair!” when she first saw her new coiffure.
I have done an awesome portrait of Monica before, and this one is pretty awesome too. She has a very pretty face. And it just hard not to get a good portrait with her.
