Springsteen Ticket Controversy

As Springsteen plays his 1st of 2 concerts at the IZOD Center tonight, he makes the local TV headlines. Not with his music though, but with the controversy surrounding tickets sales for today’s and Saturday’s concert. Apparently, many thousand tickets where held back. A part of them by Springsteen’s management and Sony Music according to my9 news.

It seems a lot of people didn’t get in when tickets went on sale back in February. I guess I must have been very lucky… I hope it’s gonna be all worth it than.

Look In Their Eyes…

Bruce Springsteen and Tom Mortello (Rage Against the Machine and the Nightwatch Men) perform The Ghost of Tom Joad with the E-Street Band at the LA Sports Arena on April 15. A display of pure and raw emotion. This is why I love Springsteen’s music I guess.

Countin’ Down to New Bruce

Springsteen Single I’m counting down to the release of Springsteen‘s new album. The album titled Working on a Dream will be released on January 27, 2009. All 12 songs on the album are produced by Springsteen and Brendan O’Brien, and recorded in collaboration with the legendary E-Street Band.

The new single from this forthcoming album is available for download through iTunes. It has a very catchy tune to it. It sounds a lot like a pop recording, while it clearly has a deeper meaning. And hence it builds on the same tradition as his previous albums The Rising and Magic. It has me all excited and looking forward to the release of the album and the upcoming tour.

Dasm! Again!

Springsteen must be psychic, ’cause I have had this song on my mind for a couple of weeks. And the he goes ahead and opens the show for the fans in St. Louis, MO with it. Just ain’t fair to us poor European fans.

And then She Kissed Me is song Phil Spector wrote for The Crystals in 1963. The Beach Boys also recorded a version of this song.

Help Saving Springsteen Heritage

E-Street Band in Front of TillieI need your help saving a little bit of Springsteen heritage!

For years Springsteen fans all over the world are tryin’ to save Tillie, a beautiful neon lit mural that once graced one of the walls of the Palace amusement park in Asbury Park, NJ. It took a lot of rallying, money and hard work to make sure it did not perish when they tore down the Palace.

Four years after Springsteen fans helped rescue three iconic murals from the Palace in Asbury Park, and two years since developers were supposed to relocate the murals into preservation sheds, neither the developers nor the City of Asbury Park have honored their promises to preserve the murals including the smiling face of Tillie.

To help preserve Tillie and the other murals, before time runs out, please the preservation petition at www.palacepetition.com and ask your friends and family to help.

I made this photo in 1998, on my 1st trip to New York and New Jersey. The Palace amusement park and Tillie’s face were in pretty good shape then. Not long after, part of the building collapsed and it was later torn down.

Dasm!

I should have been at the Giants Stadium tonight when Bruce played Jersey Girl

I could have… I would have… I should have… Next year Bruce! I promise!

Girls in their Summer Clothes

Woke up this morning and the first thing I read, is this post on my little sister’s blog… dedicated to me. Speechless, stunned and overpowered with joy was I!

A perfect start for a summer’s day. A perfect start for summer all together. You’re the best sis. And since it’s your song… this is for you…
