Thank You

My tea’s gone cold, I’m wondering why I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window and I can’t see at all
And even if I could it’d all be grey, but your picture on my wall
It reminds me that its not so bad
Its not so bad
I drank too much last night, got bills to pay
My head just feels in pain
I missed the bus and there’ll be hell today
I’m late for work again
And even if I’m there, they’ll all imply that I might not last the day
And then you call me and its not so bad
Its not so bad and

I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life
Oh just to be with you is having the best day of my life

Push the door, I’m home at last and I’m soaking through and through
Then you handed me a towel and all I see is you
And even if my house falls down now, I wouldn’t have a clue
Because you’re near me and

I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life
Oh just to be with you is having the best day of my life

Exposition After-Party

DIFO’s 30th exposition opened yesterday evening. I took my best friends home for a cocktail after-party after the opening.

In a matter of moments, the kitchen looked like a war zone, but nobody seemed to mind. Alain turned out to be a true mojito master. Turns out that most of the mojitos were made with basil instead of mind ’cause Bart doesn’t know the difference between the 2 herbs.

Friends meeting friends. People chatting away everywhere. Models giving make-overs to photographers. Everyone showing off their photos. Springsteen music in the background. Chips… and drinks… lot’s of drinks!

Goin’ on an hour and a half of sleep right now. But it was the best damn cocktail party ever! Thank you guys! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Miss Fashion (3)

My colleagues of Apertura and myself completed another shoot for Miss Fashion 2009 today. A studio shoot this time. Didn’t do any shooting myself. I tried to be the shooting director for a change: keeping track of time, making sure everything runs smooth and that everybody was happy.

The Courage to Believe?

We’ve being doing this word dance
together for some time I know.
We’ve treating love like a battlefield
and taking it slow.

Will you blink?
What do you think.
The union we propose
Is dangerous I know.

‘Cause love is a game until it’s played
And if it’s lost, it can’t ever be saved.
We have heaven to gain and hell to lose
And the difference is up to me and you.
So if you will, I will stop saying I won’t
And start saying I do. I do.

Life can take a long time
If you make the wrong choice.
But time sure seems to fly by
When I hear your voice.

The stakes are high,
How we will find
The courage to believe?
We will succeed.

‘Cause love is a game until it’s played
And if it’s lost, it can’t ever be saved.
We have heaven to gain and hell to lose
And the difference is up to me and you.
So if you will, I will stop saying I won’t
And start saying I do.

Well our hearts are locked inside an iron box.
We’re both too afraid to reveal our most tender parts, oh.

‘Cause love is a game until it’s played
And if it’s lost, it can’t ever be saved.
We have heaven to win and hell to lose
And the difference is up to me and you.

So if you will, I will stop saying I won’t.
Stop saying I can’t.
Is that what you said?
Cause if you did, I do. I do.

If you want me to.
I do.
If you want me to.
If you want me to.
If you want me to.
If you want me to.
I will try, I will try, I will try.

Indepence Day

Well Papa go to bed now it’s getting late
Nothing we can say can change anything now
Because there’s just different people coming down here now
and they see things in different ways
And soon everything we’ve known will just be swept awaySo say goodbye it’s Independence Day
Papa now I know the things you wanted that you could not say
But won’t you just say goodbye it’s Independence Day
I swear I never meant to take those things away

Hana and her Little Doll

My friend Hana works at De Poppenzaal in Turnhout. She made a little doll for the cultuurmarkt in Antwerp and Turnhout. I couldn’t go and see in Antwerp, ’cause I had a photoshoot that day. But PhotoVaganza or no PhotoVaganza: I could not refuse to go and see her in my own backyard.

Hana introduced me to her little doll and I shot a couple of images of the both of them.

That little girl is just soooooo cute!

PhotoVaganza

Just got back from the 2nd edition of my own PhotoVaganza. We had a blast: a lot of happy people, a lot of action goin’ on… great meeting! Thanks everyone. Hope to see you all again at the next one.

I did a lot of talking, a bit of working and managed to fool around with my sisters for just a little bit. Just enough for a couple of nice shots.

To start off: a portrait of Mariana

And a slightly naughty pic of Eef…

Thanks girls!
