Unique Formation at Sanicole Airshow

The 2015 Sanicole airshow had a couple of special formations flying for us. Earlier, I posted a photo of the Breitling Super Constellation leading the Patrouille Suisse. That is a formation that is not often flow.

But this picture of our the Belgian F-16 Demo leading a formation with the leaders of 5 major European demonstration teams is probably a very rare sight. Capt. Tom De Moortel of 31 squadron out of Kleine Brogel AFB is flying the Belgian F-16 Demo with on his wing the leaders of the RAF Red Arrows, the Italian Frecce Tricolori, the French Air Force’s Patrouille de France and Patrouille Suisse.

They flew this formation at the sunset show on Friday. And I can remember the speaker saying something about how unique this formation was. He also saying something about how beautiiful the moon was that evening, and how some lucky photographer would capture a nice photo with the moon in the back. Take another look at my photo… I guess I was the fortunate son.
